Hello to my fellow D series and Honda enthusiasts!
2013 is going to be a good year for me. I have big plans to insure that I make it to the dyno and the track this upcoming racing season. I haven't been able to run my poor old Civic since 2010. A three year hiatus is long enough.
As most of you can tell, I am on a strict budget when it comes to spending money on my Civic. I honestly don't have a lot of money to sink into this project. Each tax season I get a decent tax return and like to put it right back into the economy by buying parts for my project. This tax season I am going to do the same but I am not going to get any go fast parts. I am concentrating on fixing rust and getting a new windshield.
This past summer having a cracked windshield and a rusted windshield frame wasn't getting me past tech. With the constant cold and hot temperatures here in Colorado the cracks grew. I'm not going to let a windshield and some rust stop me from racing this year! Mid February I will be taking my car to a body shop to get the windshield frames rust removed and repaired. Then a new windshield will be installed.
I'm also going to get some new lower control arms, a camber kit and a proper alignment.
My doors will be gutted but the factory door glass will be retained. I plan to weld small brackets to hold the door glass in place so it's looks like a factory door from the outside. Sheetmetal will be removed in a few places as well to clean up the interior a bit more.
Stay tuned for updates in two to three weeks! Thanks for reading.
DO IIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
